Our home kitchen is run by a women’s self help group from Baug village, trained and managed by Streekon – a women’s led responsible tourism collective based in the Konkan. All meals are freshly prepared as per your order.

The daily speciality breakfast is priced at ₹100, full vegetarian thalis are ₹180, chicken thalis are ₹300, while fish thalis vary by market rate and fluctuate between ₹250-450. We also serve light eats such as omelettes, bhajis, appes, vada pav, sandwiches and fruit milkshakes. Tea, coffee and sharbats are available through the day. In case of any specific dietary requirements, we can adapt our offerings for you.


You can sign up for diverse immersive experiences such as swimming trips in forest ponds, adventurous cycling trails, farming and harvesting, biodiversity treks and trails, mangrove walks, coastal treks, heritage walks and visits to cliffs and panoramic view points.

We also provide mountain bicycles on rent for you to explore the terrain around us.

At Baug Guhagar

Baug Guhagar is a confluence where people from all walks of life come together, interact, share and learn. We welcome travellers, knowledge seekers, explorers and backpackers to come stay with us.

On site, we have various spaces and amenities – laze around on a hammock, work from one of our dedicated workspaces or the cafeteria, read a book in our plantation shack, take a nap on a khat, spot birds from our waterfront, stargaze from our bonfire area, tone your agility on our slackline, play badminton with fellow travellers or chat with our team in the reception area!

We have high speed wireless internet (25 mbps) in the main house, cafeteria, indoor workspace and outdoor workspace areas.

Guests must be at least 18 years of age to stay in our shared dormitories.

Getting here

There are multiple private Volvo buses from Mumbai and Pune right outside our gate.

From Mumbai, Shree Sunkai Travels and Pimpleshwar Travels are two such private operators.

From Pune, Shree Sunkai Travels has a direct bus to Guhagar.

You can check bus timings and availability online on redbus.

There are also MRSTC buses that ply from major cities in Maharashtra to Guhagar.

Chiplun, 50 km / 1 hour away is the nearest railway station. Chiplun is directly connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Goa and Kerala via comfortable super-fast trains.

There are buses and private autorickshaws or taxis available from Chiplun to Guhagar throughout the day at hourly intervals. If you take the bus option, you have to take an autorickshaw from Chiplun railway station to the bus stand, and take a bus from Chiplun all the way to Guhagar bus stand. We are located 4 km from the bus stand. From Guhagar bus stand you will have to take an autorickshaw or take another local bus to reach our gate.

Baug Guhagar is about 260 km / 7-hour drive from Mumbai, 230 km / 6-hour drive from Pune or 290 km / 6.5-hour drive from Goa.

If you’re coming from Mumbai, we recommend taking the Mandangad-Dapoli route and then the car ferry from Dabhol to Dhopave. Ferry timings are every 45 minutes from 6.30 am to 9.30 pm. 

There is ample car parking in and around our site. Please note we do not offer different accommodation for car drivers.

Mumbai, Goa and Pune airports are all fairly equidistant from Baug Guhagar.
